what rom you on?

some roms can set this for you to always happen. such as in cm7: settings>cm settings>display settings> then check 90 degrees and 270 only.

if iam understanding the question correctly ,just tick the 90 degee opinion only in display settings in cynogenmod settings :)

edit, and like hugobosslives has stated 270 also (depending if want phone top, left or right)

sorry for my poor english

oh yes, i can lock it in landscape mode by this setting

however, i am hoping to find a way to keep the screen staying in landscape mode after unchecking the "auto-rotation" button (if u are using cyanogenmod as well, u know there is a "auto-rotation" button in the notification power widget.) (cuz the system will automatically rotates back to portrait mode whenever i uncheck the "auto-rotation" option, instead of keeping in landscape mode.)

thanks again!

my rom is cyanogenmod (official one) nightly 207

i can force it to landscape by checking 90degrees and 270 degrees only. though can i hv a more convenient way of switching the screen orientation, (just like the physical screen orientation lock button on iPads )

can it be achieved by software method?

the problem is, even my phone was at first in landscape mode, after i un-toggle "auto-rotation", it can't stay in landscape mode but change to portrait mode.:(

there's orientation control on market that will lock it place, but is paid app 88pence:)

there is another way to do it, but a working knowledge of Java and xml file editing is required which is beyond my current knowledge :)

I had a look around the net for apk that could do the job, did find but by design only able to lock in portrait:( the only one that states can lock to landscape is the one in the above post. barring messing with xml files.....
