internet disconnecting swedish spring

Hi, I took the plunge and put swedishspring on my san francisco after struggling with cynogen, it improved the phone in many ways but when the phone goes into sleep mode wifi and mobile internet seem to shut down, I noticed this due to gmail and whats app not updating/syncing until i wake the phone up,this is the case on both mine and my wifes phone, mine is gen2 and the wifes is gen1, just wondered if anyone else has had this problem, thanks :)
