call volume issues

ever since i bought my omc i have got reaction from people that they can barely hear me during acall .used turbosim and it was the same , now unlocked nothing has changed, volume at full blast , but caller struggles to hear me , also applies to all phone calls from any network. any ideas or hacks to increase call volume . im on cm7 2.3.7 UNLOCKED at last tilal nightly 6/11/11

obviously not an issue ,except on my phone , now what is the problem ,its a phone , if i cant be heard when people call ,then its not a phone , just a brick ,unlocked or not

Sounds like the mic is screwed, it could potentially be dust or something similar is blocking the mic hole on the bottom of the phone. The phone volume controls your earpiece volume not the microphone gain, so it won't make any difference up or down.

Try using a hair dryer or vacuum cleaner on it to dislodge any dust.

Failing that, get Orange to swap it out by phoning their customer services, or take it back to the shop you got it from. Ask them to replace it, and if they refuse because the phone is modified (unlocked/custom rom etc) tell them you're rejecting it as not of satisfactory quality under the provisions of the sales of goods and services act and the warranty is irrelevant. It's important to realise that because you've modified it installing a custom rom/unlocking etc they may well be able to argue your warranty is invalid, but that no way negates their obligations under the sales of goods and services act in order to ensure it's of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, as described etc.
