Guest raverrr Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 i have been waiting for the unlock for the skate witch got here a few days ago but i also heard the san fran 2 will be out before xmas. im still relatively new to android so by looking at the specs of the two handsets i am unable to make a decision. on one hand the skate with a growing community and on the other the chance that the current blade comunity will go for the san fran 2. and getting both is just greedy :). what do you all think?
Guest tilal6991 Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 So do you want a comparsion between the OMC and OSF or OMC and OSF 2?

Is this the new phone your talking about? Its not a GSM device though, does that mean it won't work in Europe?
Guest raverrr Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 So do you want a comparsion between the OMC and OSF or OMC and OSF 2? was just hoping for some feedback on the skate (positive and negative). in order to make my mind up wether i should wait and see what the san fran 2 is all about or if i should get the skate now it is unlocked.
Guest alimo Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) http://www.unwiredvi...erbread-in-tow/ OSF2 looks similar in spec to the skate. Edited November 12, 2011 by alimo
Guest tillaz Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) take a look at the OSF 2 here > http://www.unwiredvi...erbread-in-tow/ OFS 2 its exactly the same as OMC spec wize (from wot i can see) except the OFS 2 has 3.5 screen OMC has 4.3 in my opinion i would still choose the OMC just for the bigger screen Edited November 12, 2011 by tillaz
Guest philmein Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 skate is load better than the osf better speaker bigger screen much faster worth the extra
Guest raverrr Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 http://www.unwiredvi...erbread-in-tow/ OSF2 looks similar in spec to the skate. looks nice :) i wonder if it will be as hard to unlock as the skate

Well I feel it is a brilliant phone. The processor may only be a 800 MHz arm6 but you can really feel the difference beyween the bllade and the skate. There are places where the blade lags, where the Skate does really well. The screen is really good - is even better than that of an iPhone in my opinion. The colours are really vibrant and natural. The community around the Skate is already really good and will now grow exponentially beacuse of the unclock. All in all it is an amazing phone for the price. The OSF 2 is identical to the Skate in every way apart from the screen. this is miles worse than that of the Skate.
Guest raverrr Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 skate is load better than the osf better speaker bigger screen much faster worth the extra but do you think the osf 2 will have a stronger comunity than the skate?
Guest tilal6991 Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 but do you think the osf 2 will have a stronger comunity than the skate? Not sure - it's difficult to tell. But I can say the Skate communtiy will grow as I said above.
Guest tillaz Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 but do you think the osf 2 will have a stronger comunity than the skate? it all depends on the price & unlock situation of the OSF 2
Guest tilal6991 Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 it all depends on the price & unlock situation of the OSF 2 I'm pretty sure the unlock will be exactly the same as a Skate.

I feel sorry for anyone who buys a OSF2 purely because the Skate is superior and the OSF2 seems like a marketing strategy for Orange against the OSF owners more than anything.
Guest tillaz Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 i say it will retail at £99.99 + £10 top up
Guest tilal6991 Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 i say it will retail at £99.99 + £10 top up In that case it will be just £20 cheaper than a phone which is miles better in terms of screen.

ZTE are starting to rip people of now i think Edited November 12, 2011 by tillaz

So they can put it in future phones as well. But only a few days before OSF 2 is released, the OMC is unlocked? Can't really do much with the manucatured stock. I agree with the second part. The OMC is definitely my last ARM6 phone. The only reason I bought it was because of it's insane price for a 4.3" screen.
