San Francisco no longer connecting to computer

Hi,

I followed the guide elsewhere on this forum to root my Orange SF gen 1 and apply the recommended R12 ROM which all worked successfully. However, the phone is now not being recognised by my XP computer, so I can't get any other files onto my SD card. Where have I gone wrong?

I don't think the modaco custom rom is recommended anymore (At least not by me).
