Guest Joost R Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I´ve just saw a topic on XDA mentioning MIUI for ZTE Blade, it´s for the U880 so I´m not sure if it works since I didn´t test it. Just want to let you know. Here is the link: http://bbs.hiapk.com/thread-2697596-1-1.html It's all in chinese btw.

The U880 has nothing in common with the ZTE Blade / Libra / V880 / X880 / Softbank 003Z (Not even sure that its not armv5te) I guess if its real it could help a port though. (Not that I understand why anyone would want it).
Guest zabtcent Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 But this looks like it is for blade( V880) but can´t understand a crap out of this site.hehe maybe there is someone who knows the language..e.x. Solidchips??? http://www.fengbao.c...m/zte_v880_rom/

Guest Maxsas360 Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 I would test it, but I need to know: Is it harmless?
Guest Chris Banks Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 As already stated by unrandomsam, its basically just a different phone in the blades shell. http://android.modaco.com/topic/343503-zte-t-u880-variant-of-blade/
Guest zabtcent Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 As already stated by unrandomsam, its basically just a different phone in the blades shell. http://android.modac...riant-of-blade/ AS already stated read with understanding..hehe Just kidding. But links I posted are for V880 which is blade, Not for U880 as in the beginning of the post.
Guest fonix232 Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 While the U880 has a totally different base, it's still ARMv6, so this ROM could be easily ported by swapping the given libraries (hw, egl, camera, audio, wifi binaries and module).
Guest doogsville Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 (edited) Well, I downloaded a couple of ROMs from here: http://www.fengbao.c...m/zte_v880_rom/ and I have to say WOW!!!!! Just themes or not, the one I just installed http://www.fengbao.c.../rom_86375.html is the fastest and smoothest I've tried so far, and I've tried CM7, GSF and BM360 so far. Honestly, the splash screen and boot animation alone make it worth looking at, if I can pull them out of the ROM to install seperately I will be in heaven. The boot animation is awsome, and I really mean awesome, my jaw dropped when I saw it and I just stared at it for a while. Its CM7, and I don't know what launcher they used, but it's so smooth and fast I will cry if I have to go back to GO Launcher or even worse, ADW ;). Limitations so far are that it only supports US English and simplified and traditional Chinese. I'm just putting all my apps back on with Titanium, but it's gorgeous, fast and smooth, so it's bug free it could well be a keeper :D Update, I got my apps on, but titanium backup force closed a lot while trying to batch resore. I've gone back to a CM7 Kang for now, but I'll have a play with it later. I still say the level of detail and the work that's gone into this is amazing. Oh, and I managed to get the boot animation on to my CM7 so I'm very happy, rebooted three times just to watch it. Edited November 16, 2011 by doogsville
Guest Piscium Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 (edited) come buddy...this is really a poor looking MIUI imatation ROM, also U880 is TD-CDMA(which this method of mobile network was developed for Chinamobile Co. only, different CPU, different motherboad), don't even try! We have better solution launcher.apk or imatation ROM for blade(v880) Hope you can understand by pictures, see as below: desktop apk: http://bbs.hiapk.com...735722-1-1.html IPHONE&MIUI style ROM 1 http://bbs.hiapk.com...680920-1-2.html suggested MIUI style ROM2 http://bbs.hiapk.com...573856-1-1.html BTW, the ROMs are good for Gen2 only, it is not suggested to try on Gen1 Edited November 16, 2011 by Piscium

Guest popoyaya Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 I managed to get the boot animation on to my CM7 so I'm very happy, rebooted three times just to watch it. Can you upload the boot animation and splash screen please?
Guest unrandomsam Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Can you upload the boot animation and splash screen please? Why can you not just extract it yourself from the rom yourself ?
Guest doogsville Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) Can you upload the boot animation and splash screen please? I would, but I don't want to upload someone elses work without giving them full credit for it, and as the information is all in Chinese I'm not up to the task of translating it. I suggest just downloading the ROM and extracting it. The boot animation is in system/media of the second one I linked to in my original post, but I never managed to extract the splash file.
