Guest toad_toad Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Hi to everyone, I am struggling to get any application working with GPS. I have enabled GPS in settings, but cannot get CoPilot or Google Maps to work. Is there anything I need to do before hand. I am running latest Vegacomb 3.2 update 3.
Guest IanTurner Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) Well assuming you're using a bluetooth device and it's showing as paired then download bluetooth gps provider (by mobile-j.de) from the market and use that to select and start the gps device (must be down everytime after bootup as won't do it automatically) after which google maps should work (as long as you've set it to use gps positioning in it's settings) Edited November 19, 2011 by IanTurner

Guest richardmlea Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) i am trying to use the internal GPS of the advent, i am assuming it has one When you assume and you make an ASS out of U and ME. :D There is no internal GPS in the vega. Vega clones (POV, tegratab, ect.) can come with internal 3G and GPS but Advent dont sell the 3G/GPS version. If your feeling brave the parts to add internal 3g and GPS are available but not cheap. You can also use a Bluetooth GPS receiver. You can get a good one off ebay for under £20. I have tried a few but this is the one I have at the moment http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BT-MINI-Keychain-Bluetooth-GPS-Receiver-Mobile-Phones-/320558884246?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_GPSSystems_GPSSystems&hash=item4aa2cc6596 Edited November 19, 2011 by richardmlea
