Guest Speculatrix Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 There's so much free wifi* around in the USA that when I visit, usually for a fortnight at a time, I don't bother to get a SIM for data, just a $30 T-Mobile pay-as-you-go SIM for making/receiving calls. * most shopping malls, pretty much every coffee shop, Barnes and Noble bookstores, hotels, etc etc. I've also used truphone for service, to get UK and US cheap rate calls, but now I use Skype, Viber, or sipgate for internet phone calls. So, to be honest, I wouldn't bother!
Guest swisstourist Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Thank you specul... But in these shop you mention like barnels,... What are their limitation, you have to register with credit card? Time limited on line?
Guest Le Bar Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I managed to use 600Mb in 3 weeks on a Blade in the US. $50 plus tax for a T-Mobile SIM which gives unlimited data and free calls for a month. I was running the Google Navigation seamlessly on 2G, it was fine. Hotspot? Fine. 3G, 4G - hahahaha wrong frequency :)
Guest unrandomsam Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Its possible to enable 850mhz 2G (I think using v880 cefs.mbn / amss) think cpg posted about it.
