Hi

I installed the ICS keyboard this morning and its great. The prediction is so much more accurate as it is using the words before the predicted word to 'guess' what you are going to type. I would say it makes the android keyboard on a par with the iphone keyboard which is the best software keyboard i have used. I found out about it on lifehacker here http://lifehacker.co...y-android-phone

...and ICS keyboard can be downloaded from the market here https://market.andro...od.latin.ported

I do have one problem with it. Every time I reboot the phone, it defaults to the standard keyboard. Does anyone know how to make a keyboard the default one? I cant see this as an option in SETTINGS>LANGUAGE AND KEYBOARD.

Thanks

Will stay with SwiftKey 'til there's a swedish wordlist.

And I ragequit everytime I use the iOS keyboard because of no smart suggestions and not being able to erese words by sliding left.

quick way to get an apk to sit in system apps for free is download an app called system app backupper from market, install and this will create a file called sysappbackup on your sdcard. move a copy of ics keyboard apk into this file, run system appbackupper and pick the option to restore an app to system, pick ics keyboard and that will install it to system apps, next need to freeze the android keyboard, again free from market anttek app manager and freeze the android keyboard, then reboot. putting ics in system will ringfence it, make it persistent, and freezing android keyboard will force ics to be default as no other keyboard will be available. there are other ways to do it but this way will leave android keyboard intact to use again if get bored with ics and it won't cost you anything to make it default :)

edit, to create the file you may have to make a back up of a system app first ,it may toast to let you know %) ,
