Guest gerryt Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 I have had OSF since Jan, (GEN1, OLED, 2.1 Eclair). Got rid of the Orange branded stuff via the guide on the forum. I have been happilly tootling along on 2.1 Eclair but have been getting fed up with the "Low Memory" notifications and not being able to move any Apps to the SD card to free up some memory. I therefore decided to follow the guides and move to a 2.2 Froyo ROM, Swedish Spring RLS5. I followed the guide to download Recovery Manager. Dowloaded ok, phone rooted ok but each time I tried to Install Recovery it just stuck on the Recovery Install pop up. I then tried to access recovery manually via the On/Down volume buttons but each time it booted to the white FTM screen. I have searched the forums but cannot find solutions. Any ideas ? Thanks
Guest Limbo70 Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 Had the same problem with running out of space, for my apps. Than I found "link2SD" in Paul's Featured Apps and it works like a charm! You can find the guidelines over HERE Satisfied for the moment, but I'm sure that flashing will be the next step. Could easily be my X-mas project :)
Guest hecatae Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Do you need root? You could flash official 2.3.5 gingerbread with the windows update tool

Guest gerryt Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Do you need root? You could flash official 2.3.5 gingerbread with the windows update tool The phone is rooted ok. I have come across "Rom Manager" on the Market. Installed it and it seems to be working as I was able to backup my current Rom ok. Has anyone used Rom Manager to flash a new rom to the phone ? Thanks

Thanks Yup, about twenty times now, trying out new ROM's is fun, and backing up means you can always go back.
Guest punjabi Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 @hecatae Would you know where to get the official 2.3.5 gingerbread ROM from? I've been looking for it for ages. If you could post a link or PME that would be great. thank you.

You should remove the updat.zip from your card after running it. And I guess it's about time you look into a more recent ROM :) Cheers
