Guest kingpair Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) Im running CM7.1 and I've tried a variety of keyboards from the stock one to Swiftkeyx, Touchpal, Scandinavian and the new ICS one. All of them suffer from lag and make fast text input difficult. Anybody know of a better keyboard or is it a ZTE Blade limitation. Anybody know any way to speed it up? I've overclocked to 691 but no joy. Edited November 24, 2011 by kingpair

Guest Roph Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I fly on HTC_IME. Sometimes the haptic feedback can become one long vibration
Guest kingpair Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 Thanks guys. Will try them out today. Just to be clear, there isn't anything in the settings that can be tweaked to make it faster?
Guest kingpair Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 The HTC IME is great. certainly the fastest I've tried. Thank you for your suggestions. Cheers
Guest liammorgan Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 'Smart Keyboard Pro' is the best ive ever used, no lag either
Guest dirlan2001 Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Thanks guys. Will try them out today. Just to be clear, there isn't anything in the settings that can be tweaked to make it faster? Disable haptic feedback and/or disable pop-up .... Besides I use free MultiLing Keyboard with a lot of dicts installed...
Guest Kamikaze. Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Smart Keyboard Pro. And yeah, disabling haptic feedback should help you :)
Guest WillDroid Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Give the ICS keyboard a go, it's the fastest I've tried :)
Guest Ron=) Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Smart Keyboard Pro here as well. As soon as you open it it may lag for a second, but it NEVER ignores a tap. So its still great for fast typing. I personally use it because I can use a swying up gesture to access the alternative symbols page where the =, [, ], / etc are located. I often use smileys like =] =[ =/ and its just akward on all other keyboards. For pure lagfreeness I remeber the ICS keyboard and the GB keyboard to be pretty good.

Ive disabled haptic always so that's never been an issue. ICS and GB I've tried before and neither were as good as the HTC one. I wonder if its got something to do with the ROM I'm using. Just installed Moldovan and the key tap response feels a lot faster than in CM7.1.
