Isn't the camera supposed to be 5MP or is it somekind of google tricks to lower all your photo resolutions to 2048 x 1536 pixels, which is 3MP?

The camera is a 5 mp one. I think picasa lowers the resolution to make the images more wen friendly.

How do you find the camera compares to the original blade camera?

It is actually better than the original Blade's one.

Can you kindly confirm if the front camera can be used for any kind of video calls? Skype, Google talk or else? I want to give this to my mother as a present mainly for video calls (she doesn't use a laptop).
