Problem with "read-only" files

Hello,

I've wanted to change my Blade's fonts and instead of installing any app that would make it easier and quicker, I thought there was a way to directly modifying the Font folder in /System, replacing the current DroidSans.ttf with another file (Comfortaa.tff <--- renamed to DroidSans.ttf).

Here's the problem: I cannot modify or delete any file from the System's folder. It seems to be read-only. I find it really weird since my phone is rooted... Oo

So I did some research and ran into Android SDK developper and ADB platform (adb shell). I followed the steps carrefully (got me ages to understand since I'm starting from scratch here) and finally nothing happened, the files are still read-only and the fonts haven't changed.

Can anyone help me and tell me if I'm missing any steps? I'd like to be able to rewrite the font files. :) thanks!!

It'll be read only if you're using a file manager that can;t take advantage of the fact you have root access. I use Root Explorer but I gather ES File Explorer does it as well and it is free.

Alternatively you could take a look at this gem I used it to put Roboto in GSF as systemfont :)

I have ES File Explorer and it doesn't let me check anything else than the SD card. I tried everything (return button - menu etc) I can only see the SD folders... really weird I know. And Root Explorer is not free.
