Which Stock Apps are safe to remove?

Recommended Posts

I would like to remove some of the stock apps without break the OS or get problems. ;)

Refering to Link (german) these ones are safe to remove:

- Nemo Player / Acer Media

- Social Jogger

- Facebook App (System App)

- Acer Register

- Acer Clock Widget

- Road Sync

- Spinlets

- UrFooz

- Adobe FlashPlayer (System App)

I also removed this without problems:

- Live Wallpapers

Please tell me about your experiences.

Thanks!

Look at what others remove. All thos are fine, they don't speed anything up though.

Is there a thread or something about what apps to remove? I could not find anything on MoDaCo.

At least this free up space and RAM (?).

Check out this http://android.modaco.com/topic/336646-rom-236-tl-metal/

If you look at "all deleted stock apps" you can see what lg removed for his rom. Pretty safe to remove those. I am not sure it frees up space, I know it seems logical that it would but I have done it and I don't think it does. The stock apps must be installed somewhere other than were other apps are installed.

They are in the system partition.. theres no way to resize it on LiquidMT, so it doesnt free up space in the other partitions.

You can however use the freed space in the system partition to put some apps.. (move the apk's from /data/app into /system/app) it works for most apps.. but if they have libraries you might need to get them from /data/data/<packagename>/lib and put them into /system/lib

<packagename> is usually something like com.google.appname or something like that (itll almost match the APK name in /data/app)

So they are 2 partitions on the internal memory? This explains a lot.
