Guest Colibri Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Seeing as Christmas is just around the corner... Do you think the ZTE Skate will sell well and will get the same support as the Blade has atm? It's not too popular at the moment :/
Guest PedroVader Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 I hope it does, good old Blade has gone from strength to strength, but the new kid on the block, blade 2, seems to be gathering ground fast. ICS development seems to be leaving us behind a bit, even the Racer is moving on faster than us, need me some ice cream!! Tillaz is nearly there with the new ICS themed Atomic, so that'll hold me for now.
Guest Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 I think that as the price of OMC comes down,it wil become much more popular than the blade. And as I did, most bladers will ditch blade for the far more superior OMC :D

And as I did, most bladers will ditch blade for the far more superior OMC :D Do you think so ? The original blade sold well because it was the best device in its price range for a year pretty much (Without any competition). Now there are far more choices. If a carrier picks up a msm7230 or msm8255 ZTE based device in Q1 2012 (Sean Jacko stated they plan to release one). The that will be the one to go for. The split between people who want a bigger screen vs people who want armv7 already splits people between the Acer Liquid Metal and the OMC. (I would personally take armv7 if it was for my main phone - Still might pick up an OMC if its available really cheap.) I really don't understand why people are buying the OSF2 though.
Guest PedroVader Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 I really don't understand why people are buying the OSF2 though. I'm guessing its the form factor, most budget buyers are happy with this size of device, 4.3 is large in the hand, I'm forever dropping mine, but I'm happy with it. The better half didn't want the skate based on the size, preferring her blade 1, but she likes the blade 2, so swings and roundabouts.
Guest Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Ultimately its down to individual prefrences. For me,the skate is far better than the blade. Its brick like size does not bother me at all, since my hands are like shovels. My sister has my old blade, she loves it.I could not go back to that screen size,it looks so small to me now
Guest Wacky.ddw Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 I sure hope it will grow! But if Tillaz is leaving we will lose one of the most importent people atm. I hope the makers of CWM, Cyanogenmod, MIUI etc wil compile it so it allso has official support... Did it take long for Clockworkmod recovery/Rom manager to put the ZTE blade in the official build?
Guest Roph Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Seems that mostly the skate doesn't get much attention because it's such a small upgrade over the blade. If ZTE finally stops trying to feed us ARMv6 phones, maybe that will spur some interest
Guest WillDroid Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) In an effort to answer this question, I've made a poll :) Vote if it applies to you :D Will Edited December 1, 2011 by WillDroid
Guest dibbles Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 I think that the Skate is a worthy upgrade over the Blade, both me and my wife have put our Blades away now that we have the Skate. It would be nice to believe that the community might grow a little since it can now be unlocked and the price is a little lower but the Blade II, as it is being called, has just been released and noting that it also can be unlocked there is quite a bit of activity already within that forum. Unless you see the size of the Skate as being too big for your needs, I feel quite the opposite, I'm not sure why people, who are informed about the Skate, would want to buy the Blade II...? However I do recognise that the Blade / San Fran has got a phenomenal user base and a successor to that phone carrying that same name is going to sell, regardless of how mediocre of an upgrade it is.
