my blade sends texts more than once?

Hey

i have the zte blade, its not been rooted, and i was just noticing that my friends and family say recently whenever i text them they get my text msg like 2 or 3 times, even though i only sent it once.

why is this happening and is there anyway to stop it from happenig?

What mobile network you on. Do you get full reception. Do you request delivery reports. How long do you make your text messages valid for. What rom are you running. What app do you use to send messages.

mobile network- orange

reception- mostly only have one bar signal

rom- is original one, i havent rooted it, and im using the standard texting thing that was already on the phone

delievery reports- i dont request these..what are they and how do you get them?

i dont understand when you said how long i make my txt mesages valid for? does that mean if the inbox..well usually i only delete texts when i get the low on space message!

Looks like reception is the cause.

Everytime you send a message your blade is not getting confirmation it's been sent from the network so is sending it again.

Does your phone also switch from 2g to 3g frequently?

hi thanks for your help, i understand now, its probably to do with the network :(

erm im not sure if it switches from 2g to 3g i dont really get told when it switches becasue i remember on some phones like my dads there's a logo saying 3g at the top of the homepage which switches to 2g but i havent noticed on mine....does it matter if i turned my 3g interenet off completely? or is that 3g totally different to the reception?

You might be able to improve things by :

a) signing up so you can share tmobile's signal.

B) trying a newer stock rom. (Perhaps 2.3.5 (2.2.2 is probably more conservative but its also not secure). Signal with later radio firmware is definitely better than it used to be. If you are ever going to unlock it then probably easiest to do it under eclair (Stock) first.
