Guest oscar_yang Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 I am using Blade HK official rom, and not satisfied with its GPS performance.I am intent to customize its GPS dirver, can anybody tell me how ? Thx a lot!
Guest flshg Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 You could try configuring the gps.conf file in the /system/etc/ folder. There are threads with info about this if you do a search. Alternatively install a custom rom.
Guest doogsville Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Have a look here. I used this to modify my gps.conf, and I also calibrate gps using the satelites function in gps essentials from the market. I usually get about seven or eight satelites in a few minutes and an accuracy of between 60 to 10 metres.
Guest oscar_yang Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 i have try that before, but still slower than some roms such as Moldovan-Mile-High-Mountain-Pie serials.

Switch to a custom ROM then. When I bought my phone, the only app that would work with GPS was Baidu maps, which was no good to me because I don't read enough Chinese, and it was also innacurate about my location by at least 500m every time. It was only when I put CM7 on that the GPS became usable. I wondered wether the Chinese government require China Unicom to make sure that GPS is not that good. I could just be getting paranoid in my old age though.
Guest Roph Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) On MMHMP here, it's blindingly fast to lock. Previously I was on FLB, which did take up to a few minutes sometimes. It was sped up after I used FasterFix though. It's a one-time use app, which just lets you set local time servers. Edited December 7, 2011 by Roph

Much more painless than pulling out the conf file to edit :)
