Guest arnookie Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 (edited) Good news for GTA lovers Grand theft auto 3 work great on zte blade / skate :0) Hope you all enjoy this great android game. You need to find it yourself though. :0) Google is your friend, Video showing it playing on Atomic rom at stock speed without chainfire on ZTE Skate (Orange Monte Carlo) Expect more lag on the blade ;0) Edited December 15, 2011 by arnookie
Guest Watashi_PT Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 Still very laggy. But this is AWESOME!!! :D
Guest jackal-sk Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 On my transformer it runs like a charm!! Awesome really. Desire HD runs it very very decent too! Blade is too weak for GTA tho :) around 5fps.
Guest Roph Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 (edited) That would be almost unplayable on the blade due to its touchscreen controller flipping out when axis are crossed. It also seems a bit unoptimized. I can run NFS shift smoothly and it looks better. Edited December 15, 2011 by Roph
Guest stealthyboss Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 Smooth for me on zte blade cm7 not even overclocked. but there's no sound :s anyone know how to get sound working, it goes of after intro music vid before starting new game
Guest jackal-sk Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 What do you mean by smooth ?
Guest cristi12 Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 (edited) I actually renamed the "audio" folder to get rid of the sound, after that the game was playable ( >10-15 fps) before, with sounds it was very choppy. This was on blade/cm7 also. Using chainfire to reduce texture size etc helps just a little. After that a little overclocking and it's even better. Too bad my blade can't go over 710-729 mhz without locking up in minutes :( Still.. awesome time waster at work. Couldn't have played it with sound anyway :P PS: Too bad there aren't any video options, like to reduce draw distance... couldn't find any config. files to edit except for handling, etc. I think video settings are stored in gta3.set but it's not editable. Also, just noticed the camera button on top, you can change the camera angle. Top down camera is the best for fps from what i can tell and the next after that is pretty good too. Guest stealthyboss Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 by smoth I mean no lag, I just wishd sound worked :(
Guest Laccnow Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 For me, it's unplayable. It'd only be good if the frame rate would never go under ~23.
Guest Zunex Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 Very laggy on the Blade..unplayable
Guest jazz5000 Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 Been trying to download the files all day, It downloads a little then says no connection and i have to exit and try again, Connected by wifi and it seems connected looking at the notification bar
Guest jazz5000 Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 Well finally downloaded. Runs ok on blade running cm7 overclocked to 710mhz Wish i could overclock 2 800mhz like my old mans
Guest Zunex Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Is it playable on your blades? 20+ fps? i got around 5-7 :S if more then 15, then which ROM are you using? I'm on CM nightly 282 by Burstlam
Guest jackal-sk Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Its not playable, unless you are a masochist person.
Guest Watashi_PT Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Its not playable, unless you are a masochist person. There are two persons saying that it runs smooth. And you fool continue with that atitude -.-'

Thanks for the tip makes it playable now, .... But without sound it feels kinda pointless, Maybe R* will optimise it a bit more.
Guest Watashi_PT Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 What version of data did you install? i'm going to try adreno...
Guest macman1 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 What version of data did you install? i'm going to try adreno... Version? I was never offered any version choice?
Guest arnookie Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) In the gta Audio folder rename the audio file to audiobackup. Then make a new audio folder and name it audio Then just copy these three files from the renamed audio folder into the audio folder you created. "Sfx.lst" "Sfx.raw" "Sfx.sdt" This will give you the least audio in game but keep the essential sound effects. I still find it better running without any sound in game. Just use the music app to play your own music whilst playing for the best performance. You could even just play the radio sound files from the renamed audio folder in your music app if you still want gta radio. But the guide above gives best results if you want minimal audio in game. The audio is being processed through the second core of the cpu if available. In our case we only have a single core so sound running ingame makes a big hit on fps because it is trying to do everything on a single core. The game was made for duel core so not much can really be done apart from the fix I posted above. I am happy playing with no sound ingame and using my music app to stream my playlist instead. Especially when it runs so well doing things that way. For basic sound just use the three files named in the post above and delete everything else in the audio folder. But it still has a big effect on fps having any sound running ingame. Edited December 17, 2011 by arnookie

Im sure as hell glad it even RUNS so having no sound is not that bad really :P
Guest unrandomsam Posted December 18, 2011 Report Posted December 18, 2011 It is not well optimized (Cannot get rid of lag on an xperia play without overclocking to 1.4ghz.)
Guest Kamikaze. Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Just got this game today. After hair an your if playing it lions good. I hae to delete the audio folder so it would run smoother. I also had to overclock to the Max. But there's something wrong, I can't save or press those buttons in the menus. Damn, anyone else got this?

I put it back, and it's not that laggy anymore.
Guest jackal-sk Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Thats the very opposite of how it should work but nice its working.
