Works ALMOST like a charm for me, using Chainfire and clocking the cpu upp to 748, with wbaws 2.3.5 rom, I get lag only when there is an area with lots of detail :D

It runs ok without sound,but where is the fun in that.

So what you do is delete all files in sound folder apart from the primary sfx files.

That way you get some performance and some sound :D

Use chainfire too,reduce texture size & texture quality,overclocking is a must!

1.2 does not work for me (1.1 same) i can only get 1.0 working

my current rom is elite blade 2.3.5 with newest kernel

what means "fix effects"? i experimented with mine myself by editing it using hexeditor and if you mean turning on active lights of cars and streetlights etc. it works but i can't recommend it for a lowend phone as the blade is

i recommend to completely disable audio (by renaming) and using chainfire 3d with reduced texture quality (16bit) and reduced texture size activated without a plugin

and using a draw distance between min and medium (e.g. bits 66 66 8E) and no realtime shadows, active lights etc. disable (or using my gta3.set gta3.zip ) for a good mixture between graphics and smoothness

i think soundeffects could be activated if someone manage to remove all voice audio from sfx.raw to shrink it from 80mb to around 10mb

When I first tried the app it force close for me too,but then I realize there was no gta.set in gta files.After placing one there,it worked.

Edit: ok it does seem that some devices do not create gta.set,and it seems blade is one of them.

You need to download gta.set and place it in:

/sdcard/android/data/com.rockstars.gta3/files/gta3/

I have just installed GTA III Version 1.2 on my Orange Monte Carlo (ZTE Skate) with Atomic 3.0C ROM and it won't open. I read this forum and people seem to suggest altering the gta.set file in the "/sdcard/android/data/com.rockstars.gta3/files/gta3/" folder. There is a problem, however, this folder does not exist on my SD card!

Any ideas why it won't work?

Thanks for your reply.

My problem is that the folder does not exist on my SD card. I have a com.rockstar.gta3 folder on my phone's file system but the only folder in there is called "lib" not "files". I have Link2SD. Could that be the problem? I have also tried unlinking the app and moving it to phone memory and SD card and it still doesn't work.

Did you ever get GTA3 to work? Mine has updated to version 1.3 but it still goes to home screen when I try and start it up.
