Hello All,

I have this tiny question :

since the ZTE Skate doesnt have alot of internal memory , i tought > android > linux > portable > it could run from sd (proven on some android devices).

now let's assume it would be possible , what are the draw-backs of this ?

let's say i use a 32Gb SDHC Class 10

any toughts ?

,Greetz

I would rather use a App2SD program like Link2SD or S2E. It's not really necessary to move the OS. :)

Thanks for your reply!

yeah , i've tried that. everything is on my SD , but they still require a tiny bit on the internal memory for the OS. i want the internal memory out of the equation.

i've seen android devices run CM7 from SD so it wouldnt be that difficult.

Really? Cause with CM7 and S2E, I still have all my free internal memory.

There is a mod in progress on XDA that I tried,it gives you like 500mb internal space.

It is still in early developement, but you might wanna try or keep an eye on it.

Looks interesting! I wonder if there is really much of a difference in terms of speed. After all, the data that the system has to access is still on the SD.

I've got a thought,

It might not matter what speed the card is, it might be more important what speed the card reader is - or - what speed the phone can read cards at (Bandwidth?).

I guess you are hoping for a performance boost ?

If the card reader is further from the CPU than the onboard ram is (I seem to recall some PC mobos siting the two close together) you might not see an improvement.

Good luck....
