Well, no... i'm not, and nor are Archos (so they claim) as really, that Archos 35 Home Connect IS an alarm clock, but so much more than that too. Detailed at this Archos product page, the chubby little device features... 4GB Internal Memory + microSD slotAndroid 2.2 (Froyo)TI Omap 3630 processor @ 1 GHz with OpenGL ES 2.0 graphic accelerator3.5” TFT touchscreenfront facing VGA camera equipped with microphone2 built-in High Definition Speakers, 3.5 mm audio jackWiFi 802.11nIntegrated battery Software wise, the device is non 'Google Experience', which means no Gmail / Maps / Market etc. (although of course i'll be looking to get that on there!). AppsLib, Archos Remote, Browser, Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Contacts, Email, Files, Gallery, Music, Photo Frame, Search, Sound Recorder, System Monitor, TuneIn Radio Pro, Video and YouTube DO all come preinstalled, so there's a lot of things you can potentially do with the little device. The UI is virtually stock Android apart from the huge icons and (thankfully), tweaks to the stock clock app to let you set music or radio alarms as well as the more conventional alarm tones. Half of the expensive components from a phone have been removed (3G, GPS, bluetooth, decent camera), and yet is likely to cost (significantly) more than a ZTE Blade, Huawei Blaze, or MonteCarlo? I guess I'll be interested to read your full review to see why I wouldn't just by one of those and a desk stand if I wanted a dedicated android alarm clock. *I used to own a Chumby, but the novelty soon wore off and it eventually found it's way onto ebay.
