Broken camera (freezes when taking pictures)

I have a really big problem with my ZTE Blade.

It is a 3MP Gen1 flashed to Gen2 with the revertable method.

Since I flashed one of the daily Cyanogen-Mod versions, my camera is not working anymore. Preview works, taking videos works but whenever I want to take a picture, the blade freezes.

Even after wiping, reverting to Stable CM7.1 or another ROM, the camera keeps showing this behaviour.

Does anyone have any ideas that I could try.

Try another camera app? Does lgcamera work?

Not sure if I'm allowed to bump this up, but I have exactly the same situation (3mp gen1, TPT to gen2 and later CM7, a real OSF) which shows exactly the same behaviour.

Also, I got another (stock gen2) Blade with Fish 'n Chips which errors 'can not connect to camera', do I need to flash another kernel on that one?
