It's cheapest to get it direct from Orange - £119.99.

If you order one now you'll get their free xmas gift box (posh headphones and a few other things).

At the moment you can get the Monte Carlo from Orange stores for £119 plus top up - and you get a set of decent free headphones thrown in, supposedly worth £60, so its a good overall deal. I got mine OMC last week.

Also don't forget potential cashback from topcashback/quidco.

There are three ways I know of to get it cheaper than the usual £119 from Orange:

1) Buy it online from Orange but go through a cashback website like Quidco or Topcashback, they're paying £12 bringing it down to £108

2) Buy it instore from Orange but getting someone who works in the NHS or a local council employee to go with you (taking their payslip) and they'll give you £20 off it, bringing it down to £99

3) Get an Orange PAYG simcard, activate it and wait a few days, then phone up Orange telesales and they'll often give you a £30 "loyalty discount" for being an "existing" orange customer, bringing it down to £89. Sometimes you have to try several different customer service reps before they'll give you the discount, as I think technically you're supposed to have had the SIM card active for a few months before you get the loyalty discount - though in my experience they've given it to me the same day I activated the SIM card. If you've already got an active Orange PAYG card you're laughing and should get this no problem.

Best deal I saw (and bought three of them) was £75 + £10 topup from Orange, which was £119 - £20 cashback from Quidco, and another £25 cashback from Orange on one of their prepaid cash cards. You might well be able to Ebay the topup's but I haven't tried that yet.

DON'T BE MISLAID BY THE "£60" HEADPHONES, THEY SOUND GOD AWFUL, AND ACTUALLY LOOK WORSE IF THAT'S POSSIBLE. IF ANYTHING, THEY'RE WORTH ABOUT £4.99 GENUINELY, THOUGH YOU'D HONESTLY STRUGGLE TO SELL THEM FOR THAT ON EBAY. MUCH THE SAME AS THE £50 WATCH THEY GAVE AWAY LAST YEAR THAT LOOKED LIKE IT'D COME OUT OF A CHRISTMAS CRACKER ;)

omc is a steal even for £119...look at what other decent 4" or 4.3" go for, starting at £350~£450 for newer models or £250 for older Samsung Galaxys.......

Just to add, not just these. ANY employee of a corporate client of Orange can get 25% off anything. Including contracts. My other half works for a large computer services company; so my OMC costs £15 a month instead of £20, same plan. If you(or partner/relative) work for a large org, ask; they have a list.

Totally agree. Orange conjured up this company just in time for Christmas.

BTW I have to have my media volume at the lowest setting when the the headphone is plugged in and it is still loud. Have I missed another setting or anyone got similar issues?

The OMC can't be compared as "decent". None of those phones have outdated ARMv6 chips or pathetic amounts of storage.

Use PlayerPro or other music player with it's own EQ, that way you can drop the volume in the player rather than through the phone's master volume.

Not impressed, bought it for £129 2 days ago in Argos, now reduced to £89, I feel a faulty phone coming on.

You were happy to pay that price when you bought it, what's changes since? There's always offers in pretty much every store after xmas, it cost you more yes, but you got it earlier.

I bought mine for £159 with top up in August....:D...

you've got a week to take it back, go tell them to give you a reduction on the one you bought or you'll give it back....

Argos now £79.99 plus £10 top-up. Bought mine from CeX for £82 so the Argos deal is a good deal now.

CeX?can you give me a link for OMC?

CEX deals in used hard and software. There are shops in towns up and down the country, and it has a rather rudimentary website. Stuff comes in and stuff goes out. It uses the A/B/C system of grading, even so resale prices tend to be rather high.

I will send you a PM so we can continue this off-line.
