Guest Konstipated Kiwi Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I know one should always make a backup before installing any custom ROM. I am sure I read somewhere some months ago that you have to move all apps to phone (rather than SD card, which makes sense). Is this true?
Guest targetbsp Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 I've never done that. If you're changing to a different custom rom, you'll be wiping data anyway so all your apps will be gone.

I mean the full 'snapshot' backup you do from Clockwork where you create a full image of your phone in case your new ROM fails to boot or some other disaster befalls. The one that enables you to restore your phone to exactly the way it was before disaster struck. [edit] just checked and it is the one called a 'Nandroid' backup. I guess this only copies the contents of the phone's memory and I imagine it gets horribly messy if that is referring to components that are stored on the SD card. Guest targetbsp Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 It backups up the .Android_Secure folder where the apps that are instaleld to the sd card reside. :)
