Guest AKayaker Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 I'm running CM7 nightly 171. I used to have root access on my phone, but haven't used anything which needed root in a few weeks, and now i seem to have lost root.SuperUser is still there, but it won't update as it says gaining root access failed. I also cant update clockwork mod recovery from 3.0.2.7 to 5.0.2.0 in rom manager. Can i still install a new rom (newer version of cm7) without updating clockwork mod, and will this give me root access back. How else can I get root access back AKayaker
Guest sssingletrack Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Download universal androot? Re-root it through that surely.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 does this help? http://androidforums.com/incredible-all-things-root/434530-clockworkmod-5-0-2-0-help.html
Guest targetbsp Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 There was a broken version of the superuser binary a bit back. You could have been unlucky enough to have updated to it and not noticed as you don't use root often. I'd get Rom manager to download the latest superuser 3.0.7 for you. Then manually go into clockwork and flash it.
