Guest FeareX Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Hi all, I'm just curious, has anyone tried GTA III on the Acer Liquid jet? I'm installing the game now on my Liquid E (not rooted, not OC'ed). I'll let you all know how the performance is, it's still downloading ~400MB of content before the game starts. I have the stock 2.2 froyo installed. Would a custom ROM make better performance? Grtz, FeareX
Guest FeareX Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 I've tested it. It's not playable :( 1-5 FPS unfortunatly. Maybe someone here with a tweaked Liquid has better results? Grtz FeareX
Guest Thmz159 Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 You can try ChainFire to optimize the performance, but it's not magic: if the framerate without chainfire is 1 - 5 fps it'll probably not be playable. There's a thread about chainfire for the Liquid on this forum (in this acer liquid section)
Guest usju Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 I tried it on my liquid A1 with 256MB swap. Hopelessly slow (probably 10fps) and no noticeable improvement with chainfire 3D. The problem is that its not officially in list of supported devices. Adreno 205 GPU is minimum whereas ours is Adreno 200. Go figure.
Guest gedzju Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Hi :) You can try delete songs from music folder then you will get better performance ;)
Guest fischschneehase Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Bullshit....flash a cm 7 Rom and oc up to 960 or 921 MHz.....i can run mc 2 on my a1 and mc3 on my desire;)so finaly a custom rom will give better Performance... in Addition to that you can uuse chainfire....
Guest fischschneehase Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 Btw compcache should help as well
Guest FeareX Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Thx for the responses! I have to admit I didn't try GTA anymore after the first run. I tried it on a SGS2 and it ran pretty smooth. To bad the Liquid (E) doesn't have the processing power to run this game fully. BTW, fischschneehase, what do you mean with mc 2 ? Grtz, FeareX
