So this phone got run over, I put the sim back and rang it and it did ring, at some point I did press the power button + down volume. I've replaced the screen and digitizer, but now all I can see is the android symbol when I plug it into my laptop, or press power and volume. It won't boot to the software so I'm not sure what is happening.

Can anyone help?

Well all I really know is it is under the name orange san francisco and it uses the TFT LEAD screen, no cfw or anything like that.

Oh and i'm pretty sure it is a UK handset

I'm pretty sure the phone only started cocking up after i pressed the power and volume down button, before that I was able to put the sim in and ring it, now it unreliably switches on and without the battery in when it is plugged into the computer it loads to the android logo automatically.

Oh and for some reason now when I plug it into usb it says "usb unrecognized"

I take by the fact no one has replied that it is bricked

I'd assume as its Christmas no one is around to reply. You seem to have a duff boot image

Would that explain the unrecognised USB? Cause from what I understand I won't be able to change any files on the phone in that state.

If it helps I have access to usb to serial devices if I need to reload any firmware on using the contact pads under the battery cover. I'm a bit worried about it all of a sudden not working after I opened it up.

I've managed to get it to TPT flash successfully but it never boots to recovery :(, It just went to the green android symbol.

Is there any way of rooting it? I have no rom on it to my knowledge

There are All In One TPT's which contain everything: Gen 2 conversion, rom and recovery.

After lots of random attempting I have got it to load cyanomod 7 but it appears the touch screen I bought does not work :(

Right i've got it unreliably booting cyanogen, using TPT CM7-stable-GEN1 but the home, menu and back button do not work :(
