Urgent help needed regarding data connection

Hello friends, about a week ago i have installed CM7 on my Dell XCD35, after that i am unable to use internet on my mobile. There is a working data connection on my mobile, i have put my sim on another mobile and internet is working ine on another mobile. I have checked all the settings under "wireless and networks", checked APN settings etc etc all are fine and correct. Then i decided to move back to my old rom. I downloaded the stock froyo 2.2 rom but after that also my internet is not working. There is a "E" sign at notification bar but internet is not working. All applications which neede data connection ie Market,gmail,gmap etc all are not working. Friends please help me urgently coz i have buy this mobile for internet use only. Without internet my moobile is just like a paper weight. Pls pls pls give me solution as soon as possible.

Enable use 2g data in settings, E means edge which is only 2.5g

Use only 2g network is already selected.

I have done factory reset

rooted my phone

took out the sim from my mobile for a whole day

but nothing happened.

Is there any other way to rectify the problem?

If the phone is showing a E then data is on! no network symbols are displayed when data is off or not connecting only signal strength shows. What you are saying is impossible! your problem lies elsewhere im afraid, The phone displaying a E proves data is connecting.

I am also confused buddy. There is "E" sign at notification bar but no reply from network. Also when i tried to add my google account a message occurs can't establish a reliable data connection. Someonr told me to delete " /data/com.android.provider.settings/dtaabase/settings.db" but i can't find it.

use only 2g network to save battery. untick this which should then allow 3g to kick in. there is also network settings for GSM/wcdma preferences that may be worth a look. I have mine set to wcdma prefered

I don't have 3g connection, i am only using 2g. Thats why i have tick "use only 2g connection" ..also i have ticked GSM only..coz my sim is gsm not wcdma

do phone calls work. have you checked that your imei number hasn't been corrupted

I have checked the imei no via *#06# code, its correct.

And also calls and sms are working fine.

I think its time to go dell customer care now.
