Problem trying to flash any recovery!

First of all, hello, i'm a new user of an Acer Liquid Metal and to this forum! I'm from Spain and my english is not bad at all, but i know it's far away from perfection, so i please ask for comprension!! ;-)

I have problems trying to install a custom ROM! I follow the manuals to flash a custom recovery and i have problems qith all methods! I tried a lot and every time I try, it says "Instalation is OK" but when I try to reboot in revovery mode there is a black screen that says:

SD Download mode

OSBL Version=A4-03.32.01 #0 #0 #0 #0 SD Image Download Procedure...Failed!IMAGE_DIR_NOT_FUND

And start vibrating!! I have to remove the battery and I can start normal, but I whant to flash custom roms...!!!

What can I do? I tried reflshing the official ROM and start again but with no results...

You must be using the incorrect key combo for recovery. Try installing Rom manager from market and selecting reboot in recovery.

Or, switch on USB debugging, connect to PC and use adb to reboot in recovery: "adb reboot recovery" should do it.

Sounds like (maybe) you are pressing volume down only - not up and down together - and you are pushing the Camera button in too far

When I have to do the Vulcan 9 finger death grip this is how I do it...

1/ In my right hand I put my Index finger on the power, and my thumb on the volume, and the other fingers on the other edge of the phone with no buttons.

2/ Now push hard on the Volume key (squeeze the phone) - making sure you press in the middle so you are getting volume up AND down at the same time.

3/ Push the power with your index finger

4/ half press the camera button - FOCUS only (practice this before you do the combo so you know what it feels like). Unlike the instructions below I only ever press it once but you do need to wait a few seconds.

This is with Amon RA 2.2 Recovery. think i read the combo changes with CWM (Clockwork Mod / V3)

"Here is the list of known combos : PHONE MUST BE OFF WHEN BOOTING

To boot in USB AMSS Download Mode (advanced mode allowing to flash phone's partitions from a PC)

press :CAMERA* + VOLUME UP + POWER (2 vibrations)

To boot in SD Download Mode (advanced mode used to flash updates, generally OTA updates, including system + baseband)

press :CAMERA* + VOLUME DOWN + POWER (3 vibrations)

To boot in Bootloader Mode

press :VOLUME UP + POWER (phone vibrates) then release POWER but keep VOLUME UP pressed.

To boot in Recovery Mode (thanks to Merou09)

press :VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN + FOCUS* + POWER (phone vibrates) keep all keys pressed for a few seconds, then release briefly FOCUS* and press it again

* The key to take photos has two notches, the first one for focus and the second one to take a photo, so for FOCUS press gently and for CAMERA press fully."
