problem.. phone stuck on logo screen

updating my lg gt540 to gingerbread 2.3.7

ive done all the steps up until step 14. when i click install a window comes up that says waiting for device. and it says that for hours and doesn't move from there. the phone is plugged in and in fast boot mode. ive taken the phone out an turned it off and then, put it back in to fast boot mode and plugged it in to the computer but the same thing keeps happening.

what am i doing wrong?

ive done this steps

5- Run KDZ_FW_UPD. Change “Type” a “3GQCT” and “PhoneMode” “DIAG”. Browse europe open rom V20A_00.kdz and clic Open.

9- In your phone ABLE DEBUGGING USB anew, Run KDZ_FW_UPD anew. Change “Type” a “3GQCT” and “PhoneMode” “DIAG”. Browse romfastboot.kdz in KDZ Updater folder and clic Open.

but cant get past 14...

i have previously had 2.3.5 ginger bread installed

ive tried to put the phone in recovery mode but that dont work. when i hold the home button and the power button down only the back light turns on just like in fast boot mode no written nothing.
