Upgrading Orange San Fransisco

Hi all,

I bought my Orange SF quite some time back and I haven't upgraded it yet.

People have told me that the phone operates better once upgraded. At present, which ROM and which guide would be the easiest to follow to upgrade the phone? I would like the process to be reversible also so I can get back to my earlier setup if possible.

Please note that I don't normally do such technical things - so please be kind :D
