Guest icanrule Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 I came across this article from Acer (http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20111225PD200.html). It mentions that Acer has a firm commitment to smartphones and tablets. This is a great announcement from Acer and it's one of the steps I outlined in a previous post about Acer getting the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. My fingers are crossed hoping that they do come out with it.
Guest Chrisund123 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Doesn't mean a great deal, unfortunately... Cause for hope though!
Guest k0zmic Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Seems like they're committed to making higher end phones rather than mid range and low end handsets. http://www.gottabemobile.com/2011/12/28/acer-to-scale-back-on-android-smartphone-tablet-product-line/ http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/27/2663263/acer-tablet-smartphone-strategy Personally, I don't see this changing whether we'll get ICS or not. It's more about their future line-up in my eyes.
