Guest mousio Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 My Android mobile came with a wired headset with microphone, to plug into the earphone port. I would expect the same to be possible with Android tablets with an earphone port but they seem to lack the microphone support there. If I read up correctly, a TRRS (tip ring ring sleeve, or 4-band or 4-pole) earphone port is required for the microphone part to work. I just want to connect and use a wired telephone horn with an Android 3.2/4 tablet (e.g. archos G9), be it via a TRRS port or via a USB port, or even a dock – so I can use it as a desktop phone, with good microphone quality and privacy, and without radios… How can I do this? Any suggestions/alternatives?
