The unlocking procedure described in the forums is a little too hairy for me and I don't mind paying orange for the unlock code. How do i go about getting the code? is the the PUK1 code on the orange web site or is that just for the SIM?

You need to have the phone 3 month before orange will provide a unlock code

Request an unlock code over the phone and they'll send it to you.

I'd suggest reconsidering and unlocking via the method posted. I don't know of a single user here who has done irreparable damage to their phone, and -should- you run into difficulties, there are lots of users here willing to help, myself included. But up to you, of course :)

Did mine yesterday, had a bit of bother with drivers but got there in the end. Carried on and installed clockworkmod and I'm now on CM7 and free of the orange bloatwear :)

You can now pay someone who has furious gold with pack 5 if you want (I dunno the method whether its better than the one we use)

It would be good if someone has it available and can get a usb log of it working.
