I am not getting on well with the Acer Liquid Metal Keyboard at all.

It seems very inaccurate, and having used an iPhone keyboard for a while I know its not me.

What I wondered was if anyone had created a mod to improve it at all.

Otherwise I'll be selling it and getting an Android phone with a hardware keyboard!!!

Get one off of market! Should be able to get the standard gingerbread one? https://market.andro...thod.latin.free Unless that is the standard keyboard? Lol! I never messed about with the stock Rom to find out. In any case, dead easy to install another.

Pretty sure the standard android keyboard is already on the stock rom, just touch and hold the input txt window and a small menu will pop up, choose input method and then choose 'android/gingerbread' keyboard.

I too didn't like the acer one.

Also you can install an iphone keyboard emulator from the market.

I have to agree somewhat with the OP. Any android keyboard I have used on the 2 android phone i have owned has not matched the one on my ipod. The keys seems narrower ???

Having tried the other suggestions I have just installed Thumb Keyboard which does seem an improvement over stock....its better..but still not right for me. The issue I have with touch screen keyboards is the level of focus needed. My N900 I can type without looking but with a touch screen its not consistent, and, you lose half the screen when typing.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has a Android phone with a hardware keyboard?

I use SwiftKey keyboard. It is better over stock and I like it better than the iPhone keyboard. It learns very well and prediction is great. Also the way the numbers are is nice as it is arranged like a dialpad and not just in a line. Also the price was right when android was doing the $0.10 apps thing.
