Loudspeaker stopped working

The loudspeaker has stopped working on my dad's ZTE Skate (Oraqnge Monte Carlo).

It was using Atomic 1.6 ROM when it happened (it was fine for weeks on this ROM).

Just in case it was the ROM, I wiped the phone and installed Atomic v3.C - still have the issue.

Basically the speaker doesn't seem to work (loudspeaker in calls, sound in YouTube videos, sound in games etc.).

Silent mode is not enabled and the Ringtone, Media and Alarm volumes are maxed out.

Any ideas?

hardware fault.. flash the stock rom & get a replacement via warranty.

if you got it from orange give them a ring & explain you need a replacement & they should send one out the next day.. they did from me

my mates omc broke the first week he had it, the screen had patterns and the colours were all green and mixed up....he got a next day replacement, only the phones without back cover....

try to pull the sim card out, and reflash it without the sim inside.

i had this issue with one of these skates, and it fixed it, works fine since then.

Apologises for bumping an old thread, but my speaker has just stopped working :s

I guess it will be a return to Orange then :(

Unless someone has come up with a solution or is this a design flaw...

Orange should do a next day return. They have rubbish pricing but good replacement service.

Are you left without a phone or do they send one out and you simply return your broken one?

Also I never actually registered it or put the orange sim in. Will that matter? I guess not.

they send one out with a courier and you have to send your faulty phone back, you keep the battery and back cover and put it on your new one, thats all :)
