Guest paperboy2 Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Bought an OMC for my better half and she would like her old ringtone which was an MP3 on her new phone. Am I missing something but I can't seem to be able to move the file into the ringtone file. Can anyone tell me if this is posible without an new ROM. Thanks in advance.
Guest tillaz Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 you should be to set as ring tone from the music apps settings
Guest paperboy2 Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 you should be to set as ring tone from the music apps settings Many thanks. Got it sorted now. Does seem a strange way of changing rintones. Thank you again.
Guest Atomix86 Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 You can also set it from the ringtonws selection menu in sound settings provided that A) its in a scannable folder on the sd card (eg doesn't have a .nomedia file in it) and B) a media scan has been invoked since copying it to the card (dev tools can help with this).

No the file has just been put on the card so it won't have been found that way. byt for future reference, cheers.

I know I'm late on this but you can also use the app "ringdroid", it does much more than setting ringtones, but I just found it easier to set ringtones that way...
Guest Posted January 10, 2012 Report Posted January 10, 2012 The way I do it is to have a folder on root of sd called media. And inside that folder is three more folders, alarms, notifications, ringtones. Then all you do is put your custom ringtones, notifications, alarms in those folders, reboot device and they all appear in system sounds so you can select from there.
