Guest jeannot18 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) OK this is the third and last phone (unless my wife decide to have one too), I managed to do the other thanks to the help of some of you (thanks Wackie again). You would think that I should know by now but I am stuck on this one I have tried the following tutorial: http://android.modac...-for-beginners/ http://android.modac...-the-zte-skate/ USB debugging is ticked, i re-installed driver for the handset, re-downloaded the files for both tutorials I am running out of ideas. If anyone could help this would be great When I am at it, on the other I have uploaded cyanogenmod 7 as Atomic is not working. Can someone recommend another stable/working ROM for the OMC? Many thanks JC Edited January 11, 2012 by jeannot18

Many thanks JC Easiest way is to install one of the TPTs here http://android.modac...zte-skate-tpts/ (probably option 2) and then once you reboot select your CM zip from the sd card and away you go Edited January 11, 2012 by rjm2k
Guest tilal6991 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Are you willing to be a Guinea pig for my experiment? Because I may have a really easy way to root.

Sounds a bit scary... Is there any risk, I don't want to brick the phone or something like that. But I am ready to listen. JC
Guest Wacky.ddw Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) You can install clockworkmod recovery first and then flash this trough clockworkmod: http://goo-inside.me...efgh-signed.zip That will also work on 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 :) Or do one of the TPT's like mentioned above, it should be really easy and it installs clockworkmod for you... JC its quite unlikely for anything to happen to your phone. I'll pm you soon about the details. In the mean time you could try what Wacky says.

Thanks again Wackie, you have been very helpful. JC
Guest Wacky.ddw Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) just flash it like any ROM :) Edit: are you planning to stay at stock ROM? otherwise there is no point in rooting your stockROM first if that makes any sense... If you are going to install atomic or Cyanogenmod7 there is no point in rooting :) Edited January 11, 2012 by Wacky.ddw
Guest jeannot18 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) just flash it like any ROM :) Cool, sorry about the "stupid" questions. EDIT: Hoorray, it worked!!! JC Edited January 11, 2012 by jeannot18
Guest jeannot18 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Cool, sorry about the "stupid" questions. EDIT: Hoorray, it worked!!! JC Now I need to try a ROM that is stable and install easy (Atomic has not worked so far for me, I have CM7 on the other 2 phones). Any recommendation? Also, I know I am complete noob, but I was thinking to put together a post that recap everything I have learnt and may help other noobs like me. Please Mods, could you advise if it is a good idea? Thanks again JC

Thanks again That's always a good idea, the clearer we can make these guides the better.
