Just wondering how many people with the OMC know witch is the highest resolution out of these,

(WHEN RECORDING VIDEO WITH THE CAMERA APP)

i know the difference by the way, not asking for me its just for a mod i might do

so this is off the top of your head not checking goolge first lol laugh.gif

witch of these two do you think is the highest quality / witch is 640x480

EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW, WHAT DO YOU THINK IT IS

VGA

or

QVGA

Qvga

yeah, i thought this until last night when i put some videos off the phone onto the ps3

and found that QVGA = 320×240 huh.gif

and VGA = 640x480

so i was thinking of modding the camera so that when selecting video quality in camera settings it says the resolution, rather than

VGA

CIF

QVGA

QCIF

so it would look like

640X480

352×288

320×240

176×144

That mod could really be useful for those who don't know the resolution of each technical terminology...

QVGA stands for Quarter VGA obviously its gonna be less

Why not make it so it looks like this:

VGA (640x480)

CIF (352x288)

QVGA (320x240)

QCIF (176x144)

That way people can learn a bit and put a resolution to the display standard.

As an addition for future reference WVGA (800x480) should be added as well ;)

We've been discussing that as well but is not as easy as some people think...

Well it's the same with qHD, that's a quarter of HD resolution (960x540). But I agree it's really confusing, for example in QFHD the Q means Quad, 4 times HD resolution. Not that those resolutions have anything to do with cellphones (yet).

I don't really understand why they keep those acronyms instead of just giving the actual resolutions. No confusion possible there. It's probably just manufacturers trying to make s*** look good.
