Guest tillaz Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) Just wondering how many people with the OMC know witch is the highest resolution out of these, (WHEN RECORDING VIDEO WITH THE CAMERA APP) i know the difference by the way, not asking for me its just for a mod i might do so this is off the top of your head not checking goolge first lol witch of these two do you think is the highest quality / witch is 640x480 EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW, WHAT DO YOU THINK IT IS VGA or QVGA Edited January 12, 2012 by tillaz
Guest tillaz Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) Qvga yeah, i thought this until last night when i put some videos off the phone onto the ps3 and found that QVGA = 320×240 and VGA = 640x480 so i was thinking of modding the camera so that when selecting video quality in camera settings it says the resolution, rather than VGA CIF QVGA QCIF so it would look like 640X480 352×288 320×240 176×144 Edited January 12, 2012 by tillaz
Guest D3abL3 Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 That mod could really be useful for those who don't know the resolution of each technical terminology...
Guest nathanmcc Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 QVGA stands for Quarter VGA obviously its gonna be less
Guest H3ROS Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 Why not make it so it looks like this: VGA (640x480) CIF (352x288) QVGA (320x240) QCIF (176x144) That way people can learn a bit and put a resolution to the display standard.

As an addition for future reference WVGA (800x480) should be added as well ;)
Guest D3abL3 Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 As an addition for future reference WVGA (800x480) should be added as well ;) We've been discussing that as well but is not as easy as some people think...
Guest _ViSoR_ Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 You can find full list of the screen resolutions in Wikipedia.
Guest Redstarr1 Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Well it's the same with qHD, that's a quarter of HD resolution (960x540). But I agree it's really confusing, for example in QFHD the Q means Quad, 4 times HD resolution. Not that those resolutions have anything to do with cellphones (yet). I don't really understand why they keep those acronyms instead of just giving the actual resolutions. No confusion possible there. It's probably just manufacturers trying to make s*** look good.
