Guest jackal-sk Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) I had measured a battery drain in two scenarios, both Standby over night: GSM Only (No Data): 10 hours drain was 90% -> 85% (-5%) GSM + 2G Data (Sync ON, Google + FB contacts) 10 hours drain was 90% -> 75% (-15%) Now I set up my phone so it does switch 2G Data ON every 1 hour for 30 secs, makes Sync and goes offline again. This has boosted the duration greatly over GSM + 2G ON all the time as I used to have it. But this is not very good for apps like Viber, thats why I'd like to ask. If the 2G Data is ON but all Syncs are disabled and there is no traffic, would the drain be the same as GSM only ? Is the additional 2G Data drain caused by the traffic itself or in general because it is ON ? Edited January 16, 2012 by jackal-sk
