Guest Brainflurry Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 The Milestone X2 from CSpire Wireless, System Version 45.0.43.MB867.ACG-CS.en.US comes stock with Android Version 2.3.6 pre-installed. Android 2.3.6 patched the security vulnerability that was exploited by the Zergrush and Gingerbreak methods against Android 2.3.4 and 2.3.5. Attempts to use applications such as SuperOneClick 2.2.x - 2.3.3, MotorolaOneClick, PetesMotorolaRootTools, Unlock Root and the manual method documented here: http://nosky.us/xsGquN have failed. There is an offer of $100 for a clearly documented, step-by-step How To, complete with links to any necessary Windows tools, for gaining permanent root access to the Motorola Milestone X2, stock with Android Version 2.3.6 using either of the methods below that is received by by 5:00 PM CT (UTC -6) Friday, January 20, 2012. There is an additional $100 (for a total of $200) for anyone providing the above by 5:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2012. The documented process may include methods for rooting the phone via an APK or with tools from a Windows XP SP3 32-bit or Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit workstation. The documented process must result in permanent root access to the stock ROM of a Motorola Milestone X2 System Version 45.0.43.MB867.ACG-CS.en.US with Android Version 2.3.6 pre-installed and complete device functionality (including but not limited to; phone, data and wifi). -OR- A document with instructions for successfully flashing to a compatible ROM (custom or stock) with root access will also be accepted. Again, the documented process must result in permanent root access to the ROM of a Motorola Milestone X2 System Version 45.0.43.MB867.ACG-CS.en.US with complete device functionality (including but not limited to; phone, data and wifi). Once the accepted solution is posted, the solution provider may collect payment at oDesk.com here: http://nosky.us/zPhQrd
