Guest JThumar Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Hi All, Can anyone help me out with what profiles and what frequencies i need to setup using setcpu for OMC ?
Guest NorthernNoel Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I use 921Mhz Max, 245Mhz Min On Demand. Gives me good battery life. I found that if I went above 921 I'd get random reboots/freezes.

Guest NorthernNoel Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I found at 122Mhz sometimes it would be a bit slow at waking up.
Guest arnoldziq Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I found at 122Mhz sometimes it would be a bit slow at waking up. Works for me perfectly fine.
Guest TouchyAndalou Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) 122 MHz min, max depends on your particular device. Most are stable up to 920-960ish. For I/q scheduler I'd recommend sio or noop. Edited January 19, 2012 by TouchyAndalou
Guest Atomix86 Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Works for me perfectly fine. Ditto, wakes just fine for me.
Guest JThumar Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Hi All, What all profiles do you set and what are the min/max frequencies ?
Guest stiefanu Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 With Atomic i set 122-480 MHz with SavagedZen governor, but when i play games i set it 122-787 intellidemand. It is smooth and there are very few lags. I use this setting because the battery life is very very bad for me  Inviato dal mio Skate usando Tapatalk
Guest Katharina Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Hi, 1st post! I'm a bit new to this so this might be a silly question... I have an OMC on the stock rom but it's rooted. I've installed setcpu but the max clock setting I can get on it is 800mhz with no option to increase this. How are you getting more than this? do I need a custom rom?
Guest plegdroid Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Any reason for not going to 122 MHz for min? download an apk free on market called cpu spy it will show you what actual freqs your phone is using and for how long, this will help to show if it's worth setting the minimum freq, if it runs ok for you set it as thus, you'd be supprised that it does spend alot of time ticking over at the least amount you can set it to. if your kernel supports it "smartarse v2 is a good allround governor and the pickup speed is much quicker than using ondemand, 122 is worth setting as your minimum :)
Guest H3ROS Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) I suggest that people read this: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1369817 With Atomic I use either SmartassV2 or Ondemand and I leave the I/O scheduler to sio, although noop may be a little better. I use the stock clock speeds most of the time, but I have 2 profiles setup. Profile #1 (Standby) Type: Screen off Max: 320MHz Min: 122MHz Scaling: ondemand Profile #2 (Gaming when plugged in) Type: Charging Max: 940MHz Min: 245MHz Scaling: ondemand Result Edited January 19, 2012 by H3ROS

Yes, you need a custom rom like atomic or cm7 that allows overclocking. Otherwise, there's a topic around about a custom kernel (called z3 I think?) that you can flash onto the stock rom which will give you the option to overclock.
