Is my battery dead

This is my daughter's phone (one of the 3 OMC I bought). Is the battery faulty or could it be a problem with the ROM (CM&).

Battery use:

Mobile standby: 44%

Phone idle: 25%

Display: 18%

Wi-Fi: 9%

Android OS: 3%

Android System: 2%

Google services: 2%

Picked the phone about 10mins ago, it was at 73% battery level it is now 69%

Applications running:

Settings

Facebook

WhatsApp

DSPManager

Google Services

Android Keyboard

Is the phone setup properly? Do I need to change something in the setup? Any help would be appreciated.

If the battery is faulty I know i could reset the phone to its original state and claim a new one from Argos (UK), or count my loss and order a new battery from Ebay.

Thanks

JC

the battery sucks when you start using stuffs like internet or heavy apps. But good in standby mode.

I find the battery sucks doing anything AT ALL aside from being CPU clocked at 122mhz when in screen off/standby mode.

You can't with No-Frills, you need SetCPU, with which you can make a "screen off" profile complete with its own minimum and maximum CPU clocks and governor.

I have now installed an app called Juice Defender, and for the past 1 hour the phone has still 100% level, before it would go down in matter of minutes!, don't know if it is a really good app but it seems to work so far. I will update in a few hours to let you know.

I used to use that so can vouch for it, however I found it quite intrusive in the way you pretty much won't get any updates, synchronization or anything really involving data while screen is off, which for someone who needs constant data access such as myself (eg. for work emails, push notifications etc), was a no-no, instead I just made the data 2g / GSM only, and had a greater battery life from that alone. It's a perfect solution for people who don't need it however

So before I install SetCPU, I have to uninstall No frills?

Sorry for my ignorance, but does this mean that my daughter won't receive any update on her Facebook, email etc.. Or will she be able to go, let's say, into Facebook and then the notifications/message etc will show.

Yes, you only need one oc tool.

Yes that's pretty much exactly how it works, she won't receive any push notifications at all as it disables data and enables it once every 30 minutes by default if I'm not mistaken, even then it's only for 30 seconds or so which isn't enough for most apps especially if your signal at the time isn't too great. If she manually opens the app she can do a refresh and get all the messages, mails, notifications etc.

Thanks for the clarification, I will put it to her and she can decide. Her phone is still displaying 100% level battery so I guess it's a winner. It's not like she need updates as they come as far as I know.

Is it possible to modify that 30mins setup at all? IGNORE THAT

Thanks

Yes you can but it requires the paid "ultimate" upgrade (or at least, it did for me when I had it).

1) Installed SetCPU.....created switch off profile 122 Mhz to 245 Mhz range

2) Installed Autostarts ....... disabled apps during startup/after startup and connection status change

Have been using phone since yesterday morning ...... still on 35%
