LG 3X helps 2X?

Hmm, so if LG really are looking to put a Tegra 3 based phone out 'late Spring, early Summer', then they will need to get ICS running properly on Tegra chipsets ASAP. They can't risk the possibility of stuffing up the firmware at launch again, so what better way to test things out than to issue an ICS update for the 2X to have a widescale bug testing of their porting?

A smart product manager would be looking at early April rollout for ICS on the LG Optimus 2X......

An even smarter product manager will not update their ageing product at all.

Just buy the new one ! :)

Ahh, but LG have such a poor reputation for firmware quality would you be buying a quad core phone from them rather than one of the competitors? Getting ICS out there and working on the 2X gives people some hope that they have turned over a new leaf.

LG need to rehabilitate the brand, and deal with the moaning - otherwise the reviews of their new baby will start "Although quality on the 2X firmware was abysmal...."

Nah, sadly they won't - reviewers will have forgotten the problems we actual users have / had.

I'm buying the hardware, not the software.

Nexus phones should have the best software among all android phones..

but still there's plenty of custom ROMs for them.

I guess we actually want the driver of the hardware rather than the firmware itself.

hopefully there's manufacturer could release the drivers.

You mean like LG, getting their finger out and putting out driver blobs for the hardware platform....

Still can't work out how mickysoft can abstract the drivers for their OS/platform, but somehow we are still dependent on eventual releases by backsliders like NVidia.
