Guest Amraj Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 Hi I am currently on Android 2.2 froyo gen 1 oled model I want to upgrade to 2.3 cynogenmod but got some questions Firstly my 4gb sd is partitioned ext 2 1gb and i have used link2sd to link some of my apps to sd card, i want to backup my apk and data and im using mybackup to do so but I am wondering since it will backup all the apk's including the ones on the sd when i restore it will the apps automatically be linked to sd card? Also when i am upgrading do i have to format my sd card and will I be affected in the upgrading because of the partition on the sd card? Thank You
Guest Davidoff59 Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 You wont have to wipe the sd card to upgrade. The issue that I see is that a Gen1 Froyo backup of apps wont restore properly on Gingerbread. Some may work but others will probably force close. I know nothing about the partition as I dont use it. Anything on the sd card will still be there after flashing a new rom, ie music, pictures etc.
