Updating to Android 2.3 got some questions that need clearing up

Hi I am currently on Android 2.2 froyo gen 1 oled model

I want to upgrade to 2.3 cynogenmod but got some questions

Firstly my 4gb sd is partitioned ext 2 1gb and i have used link2sd to link some of my apps to sd card, i want to backup my apk and data and im using mybackup to do so but I am wondering since it will backup all the apk's including the ones on the sd when i restore it will the apps automatically be linked to sd card?

Also when i am upgrading do i have to format my sd card and will I be affected in the upgrading because of the partition on the sd card?

You wont have to wipe the sd card to upgrade. The issue that I see is that a Gen1 Froyo backup of apps wont restore properly on Gingerbread. Some may work but others will probably force close.

I know nothing about the partition as I dont use it. Anything on the sd card will still be there after flashing a new rom, ie music, pictures etc.
