Guest cliche guevara Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) Hi guys, I've tried to unlock and root my Galaxy nexus today and hit a big problem. I've followed the instructions here, and unlocked the bootloader fine. When I installed superboot, my phone reboots, and just loads the black Google screen with the lock icon, then turns off and loops this process indefinitely. I can get back to the bootloader, but repeating the process yields the same results. just to make this a little harder for you all, I only have access to a Mac running osx 10.6. Any help will be much appreciated. EDIT: Update to my earlier issue - The bootloader screen states "FASTBOOT MODE - NO BOOT OR RECOVERY IMG". I assume this is the issue and it what is causing the boot loop. How do I flash a boot or recovery image? I've downloaded the Android 4.0.2 (ICL53F) files from google code, but following the instructions in the OP gives a file not found error. Edited January 30, 2012 by cliche guevara

Guest cliche guevara Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Download this: http://download.cloc....0.2-maguro.img Then use the fastboot commands to flash it fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.2-maguro.img Have just tried this, but terminal is givng me the error "-bash: fastboot: command not found". I am definitely in the adb-fastboot folder with the fastboot file. Any ideas where I'm going wrong?
Guest Princas Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Had the same problem, the only way is to leave bootloader unlocked, download nexus toolkit v4 , and flash google img with it, the will recover, you can root then that img, but as soon as you trie to flash custom recovery it will bootloop again, ,,, i have no idea why it is so, and found no help on any forum, but the only way to get your phone back to live is flashing that original google img
Guest theidoctor.org Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 I was having the same issue yesterday. I was able to wipe data/ cache and restart from there. I'm not sure if it will work but you can try this. No need to plug your phone in yet. 1. Get into boot loader using power and both volume up and down. 2. When your in boot loader, press power + volume up. This should get you into the recovery. 3. Look for wipe data/ cache. And reboot after that.
