Today, 07:13 PM Hi, i got a stock omg and was wondering if i install cwm to fone (rom manager) do the backup, the wipes and then install from sd card a pre downloaded custom rom ( cyan 9?) , is that gonna work, without doing the root and superuser before cwm ? Thanks im a nooooob,

Thanks. Tutorial made it sound like root wasnt required. But i realise it meant no need to root after custon rom installed. I guess. Im old skool. Used to be well into a the amiga scene. 1990's. Dial up bbs.'s etc. Thanks again. This site is awesome.

Thanks, being a noob and not wanting to brick my fone, i had read so much info, my head was spinning, so i didnt bother trying last nite, gonna go for it today, ice armour rom, following tutorial on here. post my results later

Just follow part 2 of my tutorial its a newer version of Clockworkmod :) its 4.0.1.5 instaid of 4.0.1.4 (like the link above) There is also a part on installing ROMs :D

Update. Got myself ready on sunday night, ready to follow instructions. Anyway cant remember what stage i was at, but the link had been blocked by the fbi, megaupload? Had a look on this site for another link, without any luck and gave up for now.

Last night, had a load of beers and finally managed to install custom rom, atomic, now this morning quickly changed to ice armour, nice one guys for advice and having a cool site. I'm hooked. Any jobs going?

Welcome to the Club, I can generally cycle through about 4 different roms each week, depending on time and mood, its damn addictive!!

Best job you can do is be around to test new versions, now you've got the knack of doing it. I've said on here before, wish I had the cells up top to grasp the process of building a rom, the things these guys can do are amazing to me, and they're determined to get the best out of our devices. It's rarely dull round here these days. ;)
