Guest HelloDave Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Just discovered this today (pretty sure it isn't in the manual) - if a call comes in and you don't want to answer it, but don't want the caller to know they've been put on answerphone then press the volume down button while the phone is ringing and it turns off the ringer and vibration. I'm pretty sure this doesn't put the caller on answerphone/redirect as the "Incoming call" screen and Accept and Reject softkeys stay, but I haven't tried it calling from another phone yet. I assume it doesn't work with any key answer though. It's quite useful if you want to pretend you're away from your phone instead of letting it ring until the caller is put on answerphone; like the "silent" option on the Nokia 6310 and others. Wish I'd found this out before I went on the train the other day, when the whole carriage was treated to a rendition of "Kyle's mom's a bitch, she's the biggest bitch in the whole wide world..."
Guest madu Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 I second it's a mute function which just stops phone making any signs of a call apart from the screen. It does NOT hang up. V handy.
Guest foxy11 Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 nice :) will be useful, thx for the info!
Guest jmrodriguez Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 This is a feature that has been available with Motorola phones for quite some time. Good to know the SPV can do this as well. :)
Guest madu Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 and siemens (* key) and ericsson (volume down key) and... you name it!

Guest beckett1 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 N1 glad to know the SPV can be put on silent. Wish I'd found this out before I went on the train the other day, when the whole carriage was treated to a rendition of "Kyle's mom's a bitch, she's the biggest bitch in the whole wide world..." Any chance you could send me that wav file?
