Guest shobhit_1990 Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 Hey guys, recently buyed idea blade. Phone is very cool for entry level android phones. The biggest problem of phone is its internal memory. First time I booted it has only 30 Mb of internal memory out of 168 Mb. Well here is the good news, today i managed to free it upto 125 Mb and that too without flashing custom Rom. Only rooting of the device was done. So here are the steps to free up more memory in IDEA BLADE by removing bundled applications that comes with it. 1. You have to root your mobile. 2. The best method is "z4root". 3. After rooting install "Root Uninstall" from the market. 4. Now select those crappy pre-installed apps. (like google maps, racing thunder---this application alone takes up 25 Mb of memory) 5. Don't panic that you will loose your apps as you can get them from market later and then they can be moved to SD. 6. Now theoretically this should have freed a lot of memory but I was very disappointed that phone memory has not increased a single MB. 7. Now the last part. Go to setting-> privacy. Untick Backup my data. Now click factory reset. 8. When the phone will reboot check phone memory and voila! you have 100-125 MB free memory depending how much you deleted the bundled apps. OPTIONAL BACkUP:- You can backup your contacts and SMS using my phone explorer Any questions please post here.
