I have tried to update my orange san francisco to swedish snow following one of the guides here. After the procedure it says installed successfully. Now I have rebooted al I have is the green android icon flashing steadily on the screen. Is this normal after a reboot after installing a new rom? If not what could it be?

I spent a long time trying to help you with fish n chips rom. It now seems to me looking at you're previous posts that you're full of s..t and a time waster so Stop posting topics asking for help with this and that and leave the forum for those who really appreciate the help people on hear have to offer and the hard work the developers do for free.

Thanks for the reply. I gave up on fish n chips after spending a long time trying to install it with no success. found a step by step guide to installing swedish snow so i tried following that. Still no luck. Thanks for your help but you seem to assume everynbody has the same understanding as you of the phone when I am a comlete noob and need step by step instructions. Thanks for help anyway.

All I asked you was what gen your phone is by installing the app( ask Mr pigfish) as the rom you are using sweedish spring is both gen1 and gen2 so without you posting what Gen you are I was unable to help you further. I think that was pritty easy to follow. And if you can not follow them instructions you really should not be trying to install Roms. and starting a new thread

The main issue with asking for step by step guides is that you learn absolutely nothing. If something goes wrong, you need step by step guides to narrow down the problem and then step by step guides to repair or rectify the problem.

Learning about Android is all part of the fun, just like riding a bike or driving a car. If your friend said, here let me drive for you, and you watch, so that you never actually got to drive, then you would never be able to drive properly and it would just be boring and you would get fed up very quickly. The same goes for Android or anything else that you want to learn in life. You learn by doing it, and reading up and starting to understand the processes first is all part of that process. Not understanding and just being told is not conducive to learning, that's why we ask questions when we don't understand something, then we finally get it and then its pretty easy from there. However you actually have to read and get a basic knowledge first before asking questions or you wont have a clue.

You might think my fist post was a little harsh, but if you read the above link you might understand all the help and step by step advice as well as time spent trying to help and something as as simple as installing Ask Mr Pigfish and you answering me could probably have stopped this post.

And may I add I totally agree with davidof59 post.

tbH i was getting a bit desperate as I lost the use of my phone for a whole day and did not have a backup, so was in a bit of a panic. I am sure the info i need will be aboutt so won't be bothering anyone or posting again. I don't want to waste anyone time or upset anyone.

Not saying do not use the forum just try to learn a little more and appreciate help when someone is taking time out to try and help as we all have to start somewhere. And who knows as you get more knowledge you might look back and say I understand it now . As stated above learning is what makes android fun and not boring.

P,S just to let you know I bricked my ZTE crescent but the nice people form orange are sending a new one to me tomorrow( Learning curve for me.
